Working Together to…

Build facilities, Promote Education and Feed the Children

Mission Statement:

To provide relief services and support for groups and individuals with financial and/or physical needs resulting from poverty, health challenges or disaster.

About Hands In Service (H.I.S.)

Founded in 2003, Hands In Service a 501C (3) non-profit Christian Organization based in Grand Haven, Michigan, is governed by a local board of directors. We do not own any of our projects but rather we partner with other organizations to make their dreams come true. Most of our projects and programs are dedicated to helping children by providing nutrition and educational opportunities.

H.I.S. missions are generally financed by churches and individuals.  We have one large fundraiser per year where 100% of the proceeds go entirely to outreaches in which our organization is involved with.  Donations are tax deductible.

H.I.S. takes work teams of 8 to 14 volunteers to help existing or new start up organizations in depressed areas that need a short term commitment to build or repair.   We are not interested in “taking ownership”.  H.I.S. works with the local people during the project and remains with the project until completed.  Once the project is completed, H.I.S. moves on to new horizons.

Work teams may consist of adults, families (parents/teen children) church groups or youth teams.

Living in Honduras, Michelle and Evelyn have been with H.I.S since the very beginning.  They both served as our translators and have been our Liaisons between H.I.S. and all the organizations we have worked with over the years.  They are on the front lines to assist us with understanding the problems that come up.
